At clappery crafts were all about our sheep, they’re happiness and welfare is our main priority and the by product they’re wonderful fleece.We have a small holding nestled in a lovely river valley in north Devon.Our sheep are all pets and have names, we have pedigree gotlands, rare breed pedigree Leicester long wool, shetlands, Devon & Cornwall longwool, teeswater and some grown up bottle lambs, not all of our sheep are ewes we also keep whethers as well as they also grow a wonderful fleece.We believe in sustainability farming practices that promote the health and quality of our land, and provide a wildlife friendly habitat rotating grazing, not using pesticides and encouraging wildlife. We have a small decidous wood with a couple of very old oak trees, ash, sycamore and hazel, this produces a shady haven for the sheep in the summer and year round habitat for the wildlife.We often see buzzards, hear the drumming of the woodpeckers in the spring, the whistle of the kingfisher as it darts down the river, owls and even sky larks on our land. We are very blessed to have this wildlife on our doorstep and will do everything we can to encourage it and maintain their surroundings.As well as our own fleece we also buy from local farmers and small holders supporting them and having a lower carbon foot print.
