Handwoven jacob and exmoor horn rug

Handwoven 100 % Pure British wool rug. A hand woven chunky / rustic rug made from locally sourced raw wool. This lovely fluffy soft rug is made from wool from the jacob and exmoor horn sheep The wool comes either from our own small flock of fibre sheep or we purchase fleece from local farmers. 31'' x 35'' The weight of the rug is 1.44 kg. We usually shear our sheep in May and then hand wash the fleece during the summer leaving out to dry naturally in the sun. We then weave the wool on a loom. The warp strings are made of cotton. Through out the process we pick out hay seeds that have made their way into the fleece but occasionally we do miss one which you may find in the product. The happiness and wellbeing of our sheep is paramount, we supplement their food in the winter months with hay which does get into their fleece. Care instructions Machine wash is not recommended as this can felt the rug. The rug can be shaken out or sponge cleaned or washed in a bath or large container taking care not to agitate to much causing felting.
